How to play new MLBB hero Marcel, the Soul Photographer
How to play new MLBB hero Marcel is the question every player is asking right now as the Land of Dawn gets a whole lot more dangerous.
With the arrival of Marcel, the Soul Photographer, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) introduces one of the most unique support heroes ever designed—a time-controlling mastermind who doesn’t just fight enemies, he manipulates the battlefield itself.
If you want to dominate ranked games and fully understand how to play new MLBB hero Marcel, this guide breaks down everything you need from skills and combos to builds and pro-level tips.
Who is Marcel in MLBB?
Marcel is a Support/Tank hybrid hero released in March 2026 alongside Season 40. His playstyle revolves around battlefield control, time manipulation, and shielding allies.
Unlike traditional supports, Marcel doesn’t rely on healing or hard crowd control spam. Instead, he creates “moments” where enemies are slowed, frozen, or completely paused, giving your team a massive advantage.
Marcel’s Skills Explained (Simple Guide)
To master how to play new MLBB hero Marcel, you need to understand his timing-based kit.
Passive: Platinum Snap
- Automatically triggers near enemies
- Deals True Damage based on enemy Max HP
- Grants a shield to Marcel and an ally
This is your main impact tool not your basic attacks.
Skill 1: Framed Moment
- Slows enemies in an area
- After a delay, immobilizes them
Best used to zone enemies or trap them before fights.
Skill 2: Tracking Shot
- Grants movement speed (up to huge boost toward enemies)
- Can be recast to dash
This is your engage + escape tool.
Ultimate: Golden Hour
- Creates a zone that pauses enemies in time
- Marcel can move freely inside
This is one of the most game-changing ultimates in MLBB, perfect for:
- Initiating fights
- Saving teammates
- Securing Turtle/Lord objectives
Best Build for Marcel (2026 Meta)
Marcel scales with Hybrid Defense, not attack speed — so don’t build him like a damage dealer.
Core Build Focus:
- Defensive items (Armor + Magic Resist)
- Cooldown reduction
- Mobility
Recommended Setup:
- Roaming Boots (movement + utility)
- Thunder Belt (synergy with basic attack passive)
- Dominance Ice / Antique Cuirass (defense + utility)
- Athena’s Shield / Radiant Armor (magic defense)
Emblem & Spell:
- Support Emblem (cooldown + utility)
- Flicker or Sprint for positioning
Pro Tip:
Marcel cannot benefit from attack speed, so avoid DPS builds entirely.
Best Combos for Marcel
Here’s a simple but effective combo to control teamfights:
Standard Engage Combo:
- Use Skill 2 (Tracking Shot) to position
- Drop Skill 1 (Framed Moment) in enemy path
- Trigger Passive (Platinum Snap)
- Activate Ultimate (Golden Hour) to lock enemies
This combo creates layered control — slow → freeze → pause.

Gameplay Tips to Win More Matches
1. Play Around Your Passive
Your biggest value comes from Platinum Snap, not damage output. Always stay close enough to trigger it safely.
2. Timing is Everything
Marcel’s skills are delay-based, meaning:
- Predict enemy movement
- Place Skill 1 where they will be, not where they are
3. Control Objectives Like a Pro
Use Golden Hour to:
- Stop enemy junglers
- Secure Turtle/Lord
- Turn losing fights into wins
4. Don’t Overcommit
You are not a tanky initiator like Tigreal.
Instead:
- Enter → disrupt → exit
- Re-engage when cooldowns reset
Marcel Counters & Weaknesses
Even though Marcel is powerful, he has clear weaknesses:
Weak Against:
- Burst damage heroes
- Long-range poke
- High mobility assassins
Why?
- He relies on positioning and timing
- Misusing skills leaves you vulnerable
Is Marcel Worth Playing?
Absolutely.
Marcel is already shaping up to be a high-impact support pick thanks to his:
- Unique time-stop ultimate
- Strong teamfight control
- Consistent utility even without kills
He’s especially strong in coordinated teams and ranked play.
Master the Art of Time Control
If you truly want to master how to play new MLBB hero Marcel, remember this:
You’re not just playing a support.
You’re controlling the flow of the entire match.
With the right timing, positioning, and build, Marcel can completely shut down enemy plays and carry games without dealing massive damage.
